Anchors for the Lost Drecht

The jury of the competition 'Icoon Oostelijke Vechtplassen' has selected 'ANCHORS FOR THE LOST DRECHT' from SMARTLAND Landscape Architects for the exhibition 'HET ICOON'.

Our icon focuses on the River Drecht, landscape base for LoosDrecht and its lakes. This peat river has largely disappeared. Through peat extraction and wave action, the whole middle part has been washed away in the big lake. This makes this landscape difficult to understand and therefore also more difficult to appreciate. With our icon we make the river visible again.
