The university campus of TU Delft is expanding southward, encroaching upon agricultural and natural lands. In consideration of ecological compensation, the city of Delft and the campus administration have wished to develop a vision in which the campus is as eco-friendly as possible. That's why Smartland created a vision as well as a toolbox of interventions and regulations to be applied on campus to promote the preservation or at least the compensation of ecological losses.

Based on the future development occupancy plan and existing arrangements, we have devised a number of space typologies, interfaces, and buildings to which different ecological measures apply.

The result is a vision with comprising development guidelines, information regarding protected species present in the area and their needs, as well as a typical layout of one of the public spaces that will be developed first.
